On March 14, 2022, the Afghan Institute of Strategic Studies held a Twitter Space discussion on the Anti-Nowruz Policies and Cultural Genocide in Afghanistan and the Nowruz Region, and the Civil Resistance against state policies to prevent celebration of Nowruz. Sanjar Sohail, Journalist, Manijzha Bakhtari, Author and former Ambassador, Shahzadah Samarkandi, cultural activist, Behzad Khoshhali, university lecturer, and Dr. Mahiyuddin Mehdi, researcher and former Afghanistan MP, discussed how states oppose Nowruz and ways to resist anti-Nowruz policies. The program speakers and audiences proposed strategies to prevent cultural genocide and the war against Nowruz.
