On 18 January 2023, AISS’s General Director, Dr Davood Moradian participated in Annual Glasgow Afghan United Supper for “Burns & Rumi Night” and delivered a special lecture on “Rummi/Balkhi: The Prophet of Love from Khorosan”. Dr. Moradian spoke comparatively about the cultural heritage and universal messages of peace and love of  Mawlana Jalal ad—Din Mohammad Rumi/Balkhli and Robert Burns. Dr. Moradian said Rumi/Balkhi conveyed the message of love, peace, and humanity from Khorasan to across the  world.

‘Burns & Rumi Night” was organized by "Glasgow Afghan United” in Glasgow, Scotland with the presence of senior politicians of Scotland, the academic community, cultural activists and representatives from charity institutions, and dozens of Afghan and Scottish participants.  The purpose of this cultural ceremony was to celebrate the literary and cultural heritage of the two nations jointly by the members of the Scottish and Afghan communities.
